Most Winter crops are in the ground now, and we're preparing beds for October garlic planting as soon as beds become available (currently filled with carrots, beets, edamame, tomatoes and summer squash). If you want to learn about garlic grading, braiding and hanging, we have some left to do and it is a task which can easily be accomplished with strict physical distancing in place. As for garlic planting, we're sowing mustard seed to cut and turn into the soil to limit negative nematode impact. And, we're getting straw ready to mulch the beds.

Shorter days means weed (a.k.a. plants in the wrong place) growth has lessened too, so we can accomplish some serious field cleanup as we go about our harvesting, planting and watering tasks.

How are you doing in terms of the pandemic and how your life has changed/not? We're glad to hear your stories if you want to tell them.

We've added some extras which unfailingly brighten meals and add zip to cuisine: Edible flowers and Spicy herbs, and Brain Booster Sprouts.
