Farm Happenings for the week of October 18, 2022

Posted on October 14th, 2022 by Jessica Foote

Hello to all our Garden Folks,

I sincerely apologize for the delayed email & customization notice! Our internet on Wednesday and Thursday was really bad and although I attempted to do this was unsuccessful. Wind and rain are always a huge factor in our rural service!

So this coming week wraps up up our summer share program and we have a little CSA break till November 5th when the winter shares start! Don't forget to sign up if you are looking for seasonal, local eating that is affordable. Although, I am disheartened by the cost increase in everything, I am trying to keep our costs as low as possible so our prices don't increase exponentially, but the push upwards is for the most part beyond my control :( . I worry about good food accessibility in our community, but this to shall pass! If anyone ever has services they wish to barter that can also be an option, if finances are tight and that makes accessibility easier.

On a more positive note cause for whatever reason my brain wanders around a little! We are exiting the fields, goal is November 1st, however I myself think it is a pretty lofty goal to obtain this year, man there is a lot of harvest left! If anyone wants to join us for a workout in the field, you can bypass the gym, you are welcome to join us, we sometimes have mud fights, other times we freeze, so dress warm, we always have a smile on our face!

Left in the field ; beets, carrots, parsnips, celeriac, turnip, & daikon radish!

Pictured above are the giant pumpkins we have for your fall decor & jack-o-lanterns! If you would like one let me know and I will bring them to drop off! At this point it is a make me an offer kinda thing!

I hope you all enjoyed the season this year and will join us again next year! I have not yet set up the new 2023 season in Harvie and don't have auto-renew activated. So I will be sending out a notice when I have completed that process and letting you all know the details!

Take care!

Cheers your farmer,

Jess
