Farm Happenings for Week of July 16, 2019

Posted on July 11th, 2019 by Jessica Foote

Welcome to another great week of good food! It is EXCITING to see the variety and selection increase. Our full crew has arrived and soon the harvest will require all hands on deck! Right now only half of us are harvesting at a time, but that quickly changes when we have carrots to dig, beets to collect, broccoli, cauliflower, and cabbage! Peppers & eggplants are starting to flower, I ate the first ripe cherry tomato this morning! And potatoes are growing gangbusters! The first cut of hay is cut and baled! YEAH! Now let's all pray for rain....hahaha we can go from drowning to dry pretty quickly it seems.

REMINDERS! When picking up please stick to your grocery list! Don't forget our great meat selection of beef, pork, and Yellowlees Family Farms lamb! We will also have chicken available shortly, I suggest pre-ordering if you want to be guaranteed chicken from this batch! I can bring orders to drop offs!

One final note! I will be away today through to Monday! A badly needed holiday with one of my horse children. So please be patient with staff! They are an amazing crew and I am sure they will hold down the fort well!

Your Farmer,

Jess
