Here we go. The forecast is sounding a freeze warning for tonight. Our Niwot farm already experienced its first frost yesterday morning. It appears to have been brief, but it did impact some of our more delicate crops. I have a hunch that this weekend's freeze could be quite substantial on our farm. It's time to shift gears at the farm. We've been hard at work harvesting as much produce as possible before the freeze descends. This week's share will feature the last of our summer crops, marking the transition into storage crops and fall produce.

Now, our focus shifts toward the essential process of cleaning up and resetting for the season ahead. Over the next month, alongside our usual tasks of harvesting, packing, and distributing, we'll be clearing the fields and preparing the soil for winter. This is a critical step that will set the stage for a strong start in 2024, ensuring we have the best soil and farm possible. While this year has been one for the record books, and hopefully not one to be repeated, a farmer must always remain optimistic. Our efforts now lay the foundation for our future dreams.

With heartfelt gratitude,

The Farmers at Kilt Farm

Fruit

Our fruit share has ended for the season. Aside for some mealy peaches in the middle of the season, the Colorado fruit was amazing. There is still fall fruit available for all members to add into their shares.

We will have Asian Pears, Bartlett Pears, Fuji, Gala and Honey Crisp apples available in the add on section for this week.

Thank you so much for being a member of the farm. We can't do it with out you.
