Fruit and Farm Events, Oh My!

Posted on July 12th, 2019 by Michael Moss

Here we are at the middle of July. Isn't Colorado down right stunning right now? We have been reveling in the sun, storms, beautiful blue skies, green hills and fields full of delicious food. Being surrounded by ever growing abundance is like wind under our wings. There has been so much work put in to get us to this point; Week Six of our 20 Week CSA season

Start of summer fruits! This week we are starting to get into the summer fruits on the farm in a big way. To clarify, to a veggie farmer "Fruits" are things like squash, tomatoes and peppers. While we still have our greens and roots flowing, the summer squash are offering their first flushes. We have even started to see the first tiny cucumbers show up. Don't tell anyone but I may have snacked on a ripe cherry tomato while I was working in the field. YUM!

Western Slope Cherries  We have been partnering with Ela Family Farms for many years now to source the best in organic fruit for our members. Our Fruit Share is going to be starting the week of June 30th. Even thought we are a few weeks away we are excited to be offering Ela Organic Cherries this week. We will have 1.5# bags of cherries available to add into your share this week for $9. These cherries are a once in a decade treat, so get em while you can!

Come visit the farm. You are invited to come out to the farm for tours, snacks, hay rides and great conversations with your farmers and other CSA Members. Put this in your calendar and come walk among the amazing food. If you ask nicely, we may even let you drive a tractor.

Date: Saturday June 27th 11am-3pm
Location: 8140 Oxford Rd, Niwot

Thanks for being such an important part of our farm! We look forward to seeing you out here.
