Farm Happenings for July 13, 2022

Posted on July 10th, 2022 by Mark Kastner
The Cabbage family is doing well in spite of some pretty hot sun. I held the Brussels Sprouts in some shade in the nursery, and we just transplanted the outside last week. They are a tough vegetable anyway, but they'll be in the ground for a long time and they really don't like the heat. I wanted them as manure as possible for the long journey to October!

We enjoyed a little time off on Monday,  July, 4, and the challenging event s leading to it made us appreciate it a little more. We had two harvest sessions rained out, and as I needed to adjust the menu accordingly, the needed support from Harvie wasn't available over the holiday and we adjusted our deliveries on the fly. Thanks to all who helped and adjusted with us!

This week I am at the Family Fare parking lot in Eaton Rapids on Wednesday at 12:00 noon and the Allen Street Farmers Market aftr that, 2:30-6:30. Thursday afternoon is farm pick up, and Saturday we are in Grand Ledge for the Market on the Grand, 9:00-1:00 with our Market set up and CSA deliveries. I hope too see you soon!
