WE HAVE STRAWBERRIES - Add some local, fresh-picked strawberries to your share this week!  Updates in how to contact the farm.  New Westbrook delivery site!  Read the whole newsletter to see what's available this week and what's happening on the farm!

Sorry I'm a little late this week.  I always hope Fridays will be a more restful and then things usually do not go according to plan.  Kiddo home sick from daycare, short a delivery driver, intense rainstorm that brings hail and a halt to operations to get staff safely out the field and save tunnels from the wind, plus new teammates starting today, and more.  Thankfully we capped the week with a mellow team pizza hangout, and I can finish this delivery and go to bed.

The exciting news this week is that strawberries have kicked in and we have quarts of berries from Fairwinds Farm available this week, and for the coming few weeks!  The berries are raised using IPM (integrated pest management) methods, meaning they are not organic, but still focus on sustainability in their use of farming practices.  Fairwinds is our immediate neighbor, and I actually managed their veggie field team for a few years before Eric and I started Harvest Tide.  They are wonderful folks and their berries are the best!  If you have signed up for a Strawberry Share, you are all set!  2 quarts will be in your box this week!  If you haven't, then you can purchase quarts by logging in and adding them via the customization system as an extra.  Enjoy!

A quick note about contacting the farm:  we use a software system called Harvie that makes all this customization happen, it's great.  They also try to help us with customer service by having a "contact" page in their portal.  Using this form or link DOES NOT go directly to the farm - it first goes through their customer support (we know, so silly, we've tried for years to get them to change it, they won't, and we can't remove it).  Currently things are not getting forwarded to the farm in a timely manner.  The whole world is short-staffed and I'm sure this is no different.  If you are trying to contact the farm, particularly about time sensitive things like a missed share pick-up, please DO NOT use this form - please contact the farm directly at farmers@harvesttideorganics.com. We're not perfect either, but we promise time sensitive things won't get lost in the internet ether.

Emails to Farmers@harvesttideorganics.com go directly to the folks that grow your veggies - and we're always here to handle stuff!

In case you missed it last week....
