 TOMATOES!

We've got some serious ripening kicking into gear in the high tunnels this past week so we've got our first full-size tomatoes for share this coming week.  Red, yellow, purple, pink, even green tomatoes are all starting to come in.  Shares will contain mixes of big and little, all colors and sometimes slightly imperfect tomatoes, so that people can get and eat the most tomatoes possible.  While you will see tomatoes listed available for shares by the lb, it's nearly impossible to pack them to the lb for each share, so keep in mind that your share very likely contains more than the lb listed, in beautiful arrays of colors and sizes.

We hope you enjoy comparing the flavors and textures of our super fresh vine ripened tomatoes in the height of the summer season!

Did you know that it takes a TON of effort to grow tomatoes on a farm scale?  Tomatoes are started in February from seed, babies in a propane-heated greenhouse until May, and trellised and pruned dozens of times throughout the summer.  Hours and hours of human work go into each plant so that it yields heavily through the summer and into the fall.

U-pick!

Our U-pick field is now open.  Friday through Sunday from 9AM to 5PM.  The U-pick is 100% self-serve - we'll have signs showing you where to park, walk, and pick and you get to pick and chose whatever you like.

Where: 304 Pork Point Road - park at the blue shipping container with the mural on it and follow the signs to pick.

Bring your own bags, jars, and containers for picking as we do not provide these.  We do provide scissors for cutting.

Currently picking the U-Pick:

-flowers  -limited beans   -cherry tomatoes

-herbs    -limited raspberries

We offer low-gluten pasta from The Maine Meal every month so stock up!

This pasta is made without wheat or gluten containing ingredients.  It is made in a facility that uses wheat, so it is not celiac safe, but it's a great option if low/no gluten is your jam.  And honestly, even if it's not, the buckwheat give the pasta a delicious, rich flavor and it's truly tasty.
