Hello again Everyone!

We have some good news and some not so good news to start out our new year on the farm...

Our good news is that we will have lots of new Pasture Raised pork arriving at the end of this month.  If you are interested in a side of pork, please reach out to Greg (613-866-6645) ASAP to make arrangements.  We will offer special pricing and you can choose what specific cuts you would like to receive.  Not up for a whole side but still want to save on local pasture raised pork?  Check out our "Butcher Box" subscription; starting in February, we will provide two sizes of boxes monthly and will include our meat at 15% off of our regular prices.  Only want a little bit of meat and still want to save?  We have just the offer for you!  We need to clear our freezers out in anticipation of our incoming order so we are offering 10% Harvie Credit to anyone ordering our meat products between now and the end of the month.

Now for our not so good news:  Our winter garden is not growing as quickly as we had hoped and we will not have enough veggies to start our Winter Shares this week.  Since we are really not sure when they will be ready, we will convert all Winter Shares to Spring Shares (when we are confident there will be enough fresh veggies to fill everyone's baskets) and will continue to offer everything that we have available at our weekly online farm stand for home delivery (including to Iroquois) or farm pick up.  Spring shares will start as soon as spring veggies are ready, we will keep you posted on the ETA, and like all of our shares you can skip or cancel anytime so there is no need to worry if you will be away or have other commitments:).  If any of you have a winter share and would prefer a full refund, please let us know and we will happily refund your down payment.

The farm is still keeping us pretty busy even though the veggies are taking a little rest.  We had a few issues with poultry predators (everyone loves our chickens!) so Greg has built a whole series of beautiful chicken houses to keep our birds healthy and happy.  We have spent our Christmas break re-organizing our wash and pack house for better work flow and to accommodate space for growing gourmet mushrooms and microgreens indoors.  We will keep you posted on those projects as we go:).

Although we don't yet have a full variety of winter veggies, we do have a spicy salad mix happily growing in the winter greenhouse, available at the farm stand this week; it still seems like a little miracle to see that growing in an unheated greenhouse when it is so cold outside!

Wishing everyone a happy new year.

Your farmers,

Greg and Kate.
