Farm Happenings for August 17, 2023

Posted on August 12th, 2023 by Greg Stainton

Hello Farm Members!

This week brought more piglets (check them out on Instagram and Facebook!) and a lot of rain for us here at Harmony Farm.

The gardens are very wet and the rain is still falling; we are hoping the soil will be able to manage all of the excess moisture without too much loss.  So far we haven't had major losses and we are grateful for that.  Seeing all of the extreme weather events also makes us especially grateful to all of you for supporting us; we can only run the farm if we have a community who believes in the things we do (farming organically for positive climate change) and supports us in doing it...thank you!

You will see a few new things on the menu this week.  We will once again be offering basil and green onions and we have our first harvests of caraflex cabbage and WATERMELON!!!  There is a lot of variability in the watermelon size so we will be including both small and large size options:).

Wishing everyone a great week!

Greg and Kate.
