Farm Happenings for October 5, 2021

The fall season has been uncommonly pleasant - for us, but also for the crops. Regardless of the weather, the calendar says we... read more »

The type of squash we have this week (from Purslane Farm) is called Thelma Sanders. It is essentially an acorn squash but sweeter than most acorns and the skin is tan. Cantaloupes are here big time now! They had a rough start this year and the supply will be a bit less than planned as a result, but there should be enough to go around. More will be available in the coming weeks. We're hitting the peak of tomato season as well. If you're thinking about canning or freezing... read more »

Watermelons are starting to be picked, but they might have been a little early, so if you received one that wasn't quite ready, let us know and we will make sure you get a replacement. They are sometimes hard to judge, and we don’t want to wait too long, for then they are not palatable at all.... read more »
