Farm Happenings for December 14, 2023

Posted on December 11th, 2023 by Sarah Wiggins

Online ordering is open for the Farm Stand (our online store) until Tuesday at midnight for Thursday/Friday pickup or delivery!

We hope to find you all warm and well. We had our first snow of the season last week here in Manchester! Even though it only lasted a few hours, it reminded us all here at the Food Hub how beautiful this season can be. The stark greys and browns won out over the little flurry in a short time, but we all know the snows will have their days soon.
So, how about sweet potato and bean soup this week? We have dried beans of every variety from Vermont Bean Crafters, and some lovely sweet potatoes from Edgewater Farms in Plainsfield, NH! Or if you're looking for something sweet, what about an Irish Apple Cake using local apples from Sunnycrest Farm?

This week we also have beautiful frost-sweetened spinach from Queen's Greens and Spring Mix from Little Leaf Farm!

Important Winter Delivery Reminders

And before you go to place your order, our delivery drivers would like to give just a few notes about the upcoming inclement weather. While we hate to let a storm get between you and your food, delays will be inevitable in the winter-time. Please watch for communications regarding deliveries and be forgiving if drivers are outside the delivery window because of weather conditions. Additionally, the extreme cold can harm your produce just as much as the heat, so coolers are just as useful as they are in the summer. Thank you in advance for your help and consideration towards our drivers, they really appreciate it!
