Meet Your Farmers

Isho Mohamed

I left Somalia in 1992, for refugee camp in Kenya, where I went to school and got married, before coming to America in 2004. I began farming in 2008. I grow fresh, healthy food. I put seeds in the soil and work hard to make them grow. My favorite part of farming is being able to feed my family fresh, healthy food, which came from my farm.
My favorite vegetables to grow are kale, cucumber, zucchini, onion, tomato, eggplant, sweet corn, beet, leeks... My cultural food that I grow is African corn, African eggplant and amaranth. I sell these vegetables and other varieties at the Merrimack Farmers Market and the Salem Farmers Market and for the Farm Share. I like my customers and their feedback. I bring them different varieties every week to promote their health. My customers appreciate this and they return every year because I deliver quality product. I want to thank all of my customers for the support.
