What’s in the Box

The greens look perfect this week.  We have tons of gorgeous signature mix, baby kale and spinach, along with loads of lovely microgreens.

The red radishes are ready in earnest and the first turnips should follow next week.

The perennial herbs are in their glory and add so much to a meal.

We say goodbye to full size kale and chard for now.

On the Farm

We are potting-up like crazy these days.  For those not in the know, potting up is just what it sounds like: moving plants onto a larger pot so they can grow with more vigor.  We do this with most of the babies for our seedling sale (you can place a seedling order here), as well as  for the hot crops on the farm (tomatoes, peppers, eggplant and cucumbers). It's deeply gratifying work, and perfect to do in poor weather.

Early in the week Ruby and I did our first seeding in the field of snap peas and carrots.  Fingers crossed the cold rain that followed won't rot the seed and we'll see sprouts soon.

That’s all for now, happy eating until next time,

Farmer Tamara
