Farm Happenings for August 4-6, 2020

Posted on July 31st, 2020 by Stephanie Bradshaw

How in the world are we at our final week of the Summer CSA? This season has flown by!  We hope that you all have enjoyed the sweet corn, tomatoes, zucchini, squash, onions, cabbage, green beans, peppers, potatoes, melons and more that we have been sending the past few weeks.  It's been a wonderful harvest and we are so thankful to be able to share with you.

This week we are offering Canning Tomatoes - a half bushel (20 plus pounds) for $25.  We also have pickling cucumbers for sale as well. It's time to put up some food for winter!  If you haven't tried refrigerator pickles...you totally should.  Google the recipe - it's easy and delicious!!

We must confess that we are looking forward to the six week break between the end of the summer season and the start of the fall season.  August and September have historically been hard months to grow.  The heat and or droughts just seem to work against us.  We hope that by skipping this time and working on the fall season, we will enjoy some much needed rest and be ready for the fall season!

If you haven't signed up for the Fall 2020 season, you can do so HERE

We will offer the Fall Half share for $20 per week and the Fall Full Share for $28 per week.  The season will run for four weeks and start Tuesday September 29th and Thursday October 1st.  Here's a taste of what to expect this fall:  kale, lettuce, sweet potatoes, winter squash, late tomatoes, peppers, onions, broccoli, cauliflower, turnip greens, mustard greens, sprouts, okra, and so much more!  We hope that you will sign up and join us on this fabulous fall adventure!!

Thank you for trusting us to grow your family's food.  We take this privilege very seriously and strive to send your family the very best that we have available.  From planning the season, planting, picking and packing your farm share - we have you in mind and are encouraged and honored that you chose our family to feed your family.  Please know that your support means more to us than you can imagine.  This isn't just a job or business, this is a way that we serve our community.  Thank you for being part of our mission to provide the very best food in the area.  Nutrient dense, chemical free and steeped in love - that's what makes good food, great!  May your family be blessed by our efforts!
