Farm Share for October 26-27, 2022

Posted on October 23rd, 2022 by Gail and Maurice Smith

Hello from DragSmith Farms.  What a beautiful day for us to enjoy the out-of-doors.  Greetings to you all, family and friends.  We want to thank each of you for supporting DragSmith Farms during the growing season of 2022.  Hopefully you have gained some insite into the complex job of growing food locally.  It also has been our misson to share the farm with others to enjoy as well. Don't want the farm to be a sercret garden.  As I write this note, a second group of neighbor "boys" are heading out to enjoy the woods.  Sit out in the warm sunshine, relax, listen for deer, watch for turkeys, coyotes, squirrels and annoying twittering birds.  They are bow hunting, but will gain more than a possible deer for the table.  Peace of mind, humble thoughts and gratefullness.

Autumn.  The time of year to squeeze in a few hours of warmth before the last drop of sunlight quickly fades into night. As the sun sets and the air cools one might be tempted to light a fire and hang outside a bit longer.  The killing frost did the dreadful mosquitoes in.  Should be a peaceful evening!

As always have a great week.  The farm is open all year around with shorter hours.  We have a greenhouse reserved with tables, chairs, plants and decorations for winter groups to gather.  Give us a call and we can make an event happen for you.  Again, thank you.  Check out the Early Winter Share. We will be in touch for the 2023 season.
