Farm Happenings for October 13, 2022

Posted on October 9th, 2022 by Michael Hoke

Thanksgiving has past, but it's not really linked to an end of harvest for us!  In fact we are really just getting started with our big fall harvests.  We have packed away about 1/2 of our cabbage for the winter and just started harvesting our winter carrots (which by the way have become WAY sweeter this past week with some cold nights!).  We continue to transition all our hoophouses and our greenhouse from tomatoes over to greens that will be harvested late fall and all winter.

This week we have a HUGE amount of beautiful spinach available.  Because of this we decided to make our XL bags (750g of spinach) $12 instead of the usual $17.  If you like spinach, you should get on this deal.  We rarely have this much excess, beautiful spinach!  We also have a new crop of organic sweet potatoes available this week from Daryl Myny in Aylmer.

Tomato Sauce!  We have our own tomato sauce available.  We had some help getting our basil and tomatoes packaged in a simple, milled italian style sauce (thanks to C'Angelina catering who provided the commercial kitchen and know-how!)
