Farm Happenings for October 7, 2021

Posted on October 3rd, 2021 by Michael Hoke

Our rented cooler is filling up with our ongoing fall harvest. So far, celeriac (being harvested in the photo), kohlrabi, and about half of our cabbage and beets are out of the field. This time of year is always challenging balancing storage crops and winter preparations with our weekly harvest.

From Pfennings this week we are again bringing in organic ginger and cranberries. From our own fields we have lots of amazing late season broccoli, cauliflower, and napa featured this week. Be sure to check out the specialty squash available from our friends at Orchard Hill Farm.

Please note that if you order a frozen meat product from us there is a 3 pack minimum in order to ensure the cooler bag and products stay frozen. Please email us to mix and match to customize your own 3-pack.

Reminder that while there are no deliveries or regular shares next week, you can still place a Farmstand order to pick up at the farm or at Western Fair market.

Happy Thanksgiving!
