Farm Happenings for August 5, 2021

Posted on August 2nd, 2021 by Chris DeVries

We think we may have a week off from rainy days! This is good news for us right now as it's been an incredibly wet summer so far. We have lots of beautiful Japanese cucumbers and zucchini coming out of our fields that are looking for a home in your refrigerator! The zucchini is buttery smooth and delicious in a stir fry, and the cucumbers are crisp, sweet and so refreshing in a salad! Our eggplants are looking great; we love to see all of the colours and varieties. Cherry tomatoes are super sweet and abundant! We've got a larger 2L value option for the cherry lovers. Beefsteak tomatoes are also bountiful and will be available in the 2L size as well. Our mini red new potatoes are fresh and ready for roasting! We of course have lots of other vegetables to add to your order this week.

Our melons aren't quite ready yet, but we'll be bringing in watermelon from HOPE Eco Farm! Our friends at Our Fields in Aylmer are supplying us with their sweet corn and we can't wait to get our hands on it! Blueberries from Bluegroves will be on the pick list once again, as well as the first peaches of the season from Great Lakes Farms.

Thank you for always supporting our farm,

Sarah
