Farm Happenings for July 25, 2019

Posted on July 20th, 2019 by Chris DeVries

No sooner had we gotten our irrigation setup and started watering our onions and celery and now we have plentiful rain again!  Oh well, I'm sure it would have been dry if we hadn't done it.

This week we will have Blueberries!  These are grown organically and from Blueberry Hill farm in Rodney.  You can select to have pints in your share or even order more (whole flats are $65).

We hope you are enjoying the summer session so far.  We love to hear your feedback so please do let us know what is good (and of course bad) so far in your shares!  A couple notes:

- Week changes: If you are going to be away, it's fairly easy in Harvie to swap weeks.  Just pick another week to get your veggies on (swap) sometime in the future (don't put the share on hold).  If you absolutely cannot take the missed share on another week we can give you credit instead at the market, in which case you just put the share on hold.  This needs to be done before we finalize the share which we normally do Wednesday afternoon / evening.

- Farm pickup members:  From now on if you don't make the pickup time (Thursday 4-8pm) and I haven't heard from you, I will not be packing a share for you to pickup later.  If you know you can't make it, it is much better for us if you swap weeks (see note above) so that we don't harvest and pack veggies that won't be used.

- Music Festival Tickets: We are hosting a festival on the farm this August (24th)!  I have put tickets into the "extras" so you can purchase them there.  It's going to be a great day of live music, food and farm events.  There will be kids activities and farm tours and it's a great chance to see in-depth what goes on on the farm so bring your friends and family!
