Whew, are we all glad to be on this side of summer! Soup and stew weather is just around the corner, and we've got plenty of variety for whatever floats your boat.
This week, I have a few opportunities for you to not only eat good food, but do good in our little community as well...
1. We've got new super soft Collective Harvest t-shirts, and proceeds from sales will go to the Creature Comforts Get Comfortable Fund. This campaign helps the local business community align to support agencies doing the most to meet our city’s most pressing needs related to poverty and hunger-- read more here! Our t-shirts are available to purchase as an "extra" to your order-- just select your size, add it to your order and we will bring it to your pickup next week. If your pickup is staffed, we'll bring a variety of colors in your size to choose from. If your pickup is unstaffed, please shoot me an email to let me know what color you would like... choose from grey, dusty rose, indigo and cranberry.
2. Come join us and over 25 of our closest chef-friends on October 13th as we show off our finest seasonal dishes at this year’s Autumn Harvest Feast! This town has such a thriving food scene - amazing restaurants, bakeries, breweries and more - and we love it! But we know it can be hard to choose when you go out. Athens Farmers Market solves that problem with its Autumn Harvest Feast - an event that features restaurants and chefs from around town, local farmers, breweries, artisans and live music. The Autumn Harvest Feast not only offers the best representation of our good food scene in town, it also is the biggest fundraiser of the year for Athens Farmers Markets’ programs including their SNAP Doubling program, FARM Rx and other community engagement programs. Join us at the Autumn Harvest Feast on Oct. 13 from 4-7 pm at The Hill. More information and tickets are available at athensfarmersmarket.net. We are excited to see you there!
This week, the Independent Baking Co. Bread Share choice will be....
The quintessential modern French bread made only with unbleached flour, sea salt, and yeast.
Without further ado... let's eat!
