Farm Happenings, Week of June 20, 2022

Posted on June 17th, 2022 by Melinda Hollyfield

Hey CSA Family!

This heat is sure something. We are so proud of our farmers, and farmers across Middle Tennessee, for making sure your food is cared for and grown with intention, despite the heat. We are also excited about our continued soil research conducted by students from Skidmore College. This week, they are out in our fields and pastures, collecting soil samples with the long-term goal of analyzing the impacts of regenerative land management practices on soil health.

Be sure to check out our "extras" this week, which you can add to your cart during the customization period. This week, we are offering organically raised eggs, and handcrafted and organically grown teas, tinctures, and elixirs from local Nashville herbalist The Healing Oracle Herbal Apothecary. Check them out! These extras make great gifts -- father's day is coming up!

For our Veggie CSA members, here are the organic veggies that you'll find in this week’s CSA box:

Eggplant or Jalapeño Peppers

Italian Greens

Kohlrabi

Sweet Potatoes

Bunching Onions

Kale or Chard

Summer Squash

Cucumbers

Fennel

Farmer's Choice of Herb

Please double check your delivery schedule to be sure you know when and where to pick up your CSA. When you arrive to your CSA pick-up location, please check in with the staff so they can mark you down for the pickup!

Let us know what you're cooking on our Caney Fork Farms CSA Facebook group and be sure to follow us on Instagram and Facebook to keep up with farm happenings!
