Happening 10/16

Posted on October 16th, 2020 by Melinda Hollyfield

This has been an exciting week, as sweet potatoes and winter squash are making their way from the fields to a comfortable place to cure for the next couple of weeks. During the curing process, the vegetables sugar production ramps up, so they get sweeter and yummier. We are also thrilled about our freshly harvested ginger and turmeric. These are available to purchase as add-ons while supplies lasts! Nothing says winter is coming like these nutritious tubers!

And of course, October brings fresh chestnuts. Our crew has harvested almost 3,000lbs! Needless to say, some of us are going nuts. We've found a few simple and delicious ways to roast them, and with your order we will throw in a little instructions card with cook tips.

What's in the box:

Baby Greens
Kale
Delicata squash
Italian greens
Lettuce
Bunching onions
Herbs
Beets
Peppers

*The harvest list is always tentative. The garden decides what's in the box.
