Gratitude

Posted on September 30th, 2023 by Danielle Boerson

While we were digging and bunching carrots in the rain this past week, the crew and I were reminded of the drought that had its grip on the farm for most of the season.  The stickiness of the mud and the clunkiness of our rain gear made the work more arduous, but knowing that water was seeping into the earth beneath our feet provided the perspective needed to get through it with gratitude.  An attitude of gratitude reminds us that what we have is enough and keeps us from taking life's challenges as personal offenses.  So we dug and bunched and sprayed off the mud, laughing and knowing that the rain was worth the extra effort.

It's not always easy to remember to be grateful, but when we do, we see what we have (not what we lack).  So this week, while you're munching on your carrots or roasting up a koginut squash, let the flavors fill you with gratitude.  It's food for the soul!  And you can look forward to getting more of the good stuff for another month. This is a reminder that the CSA will be wrapping up at the end of October, so if you have any past shares on hold, find a good week to schedule those boxes to make the most of your share.  I will be sending out a reminder in the next couple of weeks about the end of the season and auto renew, so keep an eye out for that.  In the meantime, eat well and be well.  We thank you for your continued support of the farm!
