It's the moment that many mouths have been waiting for...the arrival of the sweet corn! This marks season 3 of growing this a-maizing crop, and so far, this looks like it could be our best one yet! We shoot for a late planting that yields at the end of August and goes strong (we hope!) for the month of September. We'll see how far the corn goes, but for the moment, we are replete with juicy, tender ears. That's good for our members, because it means that there is plenty to go around! If you like to indulge in sweet corn, then be sure to take advantage of what's currently available.
There are many other super sweet crops on deck for harvest this week, such as cherry tomatoes, peppers, watermelon, spaghetti squash and Badger Flame beets. Just seeing all of their colors alone is enough to provide nourishment...eating them will knock your socks off! So go ahead and get crazy with some of these fresh, naturally sweetened ingredients this week and enjoy every morsel. Eating well can be such a joy!
