Faces of the Farm

Posted on October 8th, 2022 by Danielle Boerson

There is a lot happening behind the scenes when it comes to producing and distributing the food that you've been enjoying as a part of your CSA share this season.  There is a whole lot more to those carrots than just orange slices on a plate. From preparing the ground for seeding, to cultivating out the weeds, managing the irrigation, digging the roots, bunching them, washing and packing them, and finally to driving them to a pick up site, each bunch of carrots alone requires many hands and lots of attention to detail.  Our goal is to provide you with the best food we possibly can, and thanks to a hard working and dedicated crew, that's what we do!

Whether it's bagging mini romaine, digging leeks, or hammering away on the farm pavilion project, the crew is there.  And as fall begins to show its colors, everyone is doing their part to help prepare for late season. We're hustling to get the rest of the crops out of the field before hard frost settles in.  As a result of this push, there are many comfort foods coming down the pipe this week, including rainbow carrots, honeynut squash, meaty fall radishes and russet potatoes.  In addition, we are offering delicata squash that we brought in from our friends at Olden Organics.  Taste test reveals that they are just as sweet as we remember! So go ahead and customize your share if you want to pursue something specific. Or, if you enjoy the thrill of surprise, just wait till CSA day and see what we packed for you.

Stay tuned next time for information on end of the season details including our Auto-Renew option.

Till soon!
