Farm Happenings for May 31, 2022

Posted on May 29th, 2022 by Rae Strobel Barr

Don't forget to go to the extras page for Eggs and Shiitake Mushrooms this week.   Looks like finally we are gonna get a much needed dry spell.    We planted quite a bit before the rain last week but there are still lots of plants needing to go in the ground, and lots more cultivating to do after an explosion of weed growth.     We are gonna try and harvest some of the hail damaged greens this week.   Thinking they will grow back if we pick them good and get the broken leaves off the plant.    So if you find a few holes in the Chard and collards this week believe me it was the best leaf we could find!   Broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage all coming soon.   Carrots, radishes and beets should make an appearance in the month of June.   Have a great week everybody.
