Farm Happenings for September 8, 2020

Posted on September 6th, 2020 by Rae Strobel Barr

Well, since it Rained basically for 3 weeks straight we have greens and lettuce!   seemed like we had some bad luck with these plantings back in July....things were hot and the bugs got them pretty fast, but the rainy August we had made up for the rough start.    On the flip side, it means the normal dry month when we prepare ground for fall cover crops just hasn't happened.   We need to plant the strawberries and garlic still this month and plant many acres of cover crops (rye grass primarily).   All in all though we think this season is still going strong, and hope you are enjoying your shares.
