WELCOME TO FALL

Posted on September 25th, 2020 by Raphaela Ysrael

The days are getting shorter, the weather is a bit chillier, it's definitely Fall. Although I absolutely love summer (mostly because of the fruits) there is so much to love about Fall!! Over the past month or so we've been in high gear preparing for what this Fall is going to bring us. We are still moving out of our Jonesboro location to Ellenwood, it's taking us a bit of time to get everything out but we are almost there. We are also building our very own sawmill to use our own wood to build our new market stand and raised beds which is the highlight of the month for us. Thinking about all the space that we will have to plant food and to teach classes is exciting in itself.

We're planting a lot too! We still have tons of okra, beans, cucumbers, squash, eggplant, and peppers growing and so much space for new plants. This fall we are focusing on kale, collards, cabbage, bok choy, cauliflower, broccoli, brussel sprouts, and some root crops. Do you have a favorite fall veggie? We'd love to hear about it. We are going to be sending out a survey soon because we want to hear back from you all. It's important to us to recognize the relationship that we have with each other. We want to grow things that you all want so that we dont waste any food and everyone is happy. So keep an eye out for that!

Is anyone interested in volunteering? This next week is going to be big for us in moving out of our Jonesboro location and we could use a hand... a few hands actually! If you have requested to be notified of volunteering opportunities, then we will be sending you an email. If not, just let us know and we will add you to our list.

Thank you so much for your continued support! We hope that we can serve you all to the best of our ability and are so grateful for the opportunity to be a resource to you all. Welcome to Fall with Atlanta Harvest!
