Happy Sunday afternoon to all of our wonderful Agriberry Fall Farm Share members,
Our standard share for this week is 2 half pints of raspberries, 1 quart (about 2.25 pounds) of Honey Crisp apples, and 1 quart of Piney River Gold apples. Piney River Golds are new this week, and for those of you who are unfamiliar with these apples, they are a cultivar of the popular Golden Delicious apple that is brought to perfection by soils of Piney River in Saunders Brothers Orchards. They are great for those of you who are looking to make applesauce, and they are simply a great apple to eat as well. They can be frozen, made into pies, made into sauces, thrown into a salad, simply snacked on, or used for your favorite baked good.
I plan on trying out this recipe for a Golden Delicious Coffee Cake from My Gourmet Connection. It sounds like the perfect autumn treat to pair with my morning coffee.
Swaps and extras this week include JonaGolds, Crimson Crisps, and Asian pears as well as delicious Rinker's Orchard Cider. And of course, the oat bars and honey!
