Labeling Requirements

Unit Requirements (for manufacturers)

  1. Common Name
  2. Ingredients/Sub-Ingredients (Descending Order by Weight)
  3. Major Food Allergens or required warnings
  4. Net Quantity / Weight
  5. Manufacturer/”Distributed By” Statement
  6. Use By Date *baked goods exempt
  7. Nutrition Labeling – if not exempt

** The nutrition labeling exemptions for low-volume products found in 21 CFR 101.9(j)(18) and 21 CFR 101.36(h)(2) apply if the person claiming the exemption employs fewer than an average of 100 full-time equivalent employees and fewer than 100,000 units of that product are sold in the United States in a 12-month period. For these exemptions, a notice must be filed annually with FDA.

Case Requirements (all producers)

  1. Producer Name
  2. Product Name
  3. Quantity
  4. Label should be place on the short end of the box

Liability Insurance

We require a $2,000,000 Commercial General Liability Insurance policy for large producers and $1,000,000 for small producers. Exceptions will be made on a per case basis for $500,000 policies depending on risk category and sales volume. Contact us at sourcing@harvie.farm. 

Required Documentation

  1. Proof of regulatory approval to grow or manufacture. As applicable: PA Department of Agriculture, Department of Health, USDA, FDA. 
  2. Proof of Liability Insurance
  3. As applicable: Certified Organic, Kosher, Halal, Certified Gluten Free, and any additional certifications noted on packaging or onboarding form.
