Food Safety Requirement Overview

For producers selling us under $1,000 per week, our minimum requirements are:

  • Self-audit checklist to determine whether your current systems are sufficient to produce food safely. If you have a food safety plan or third party audit, this requirement is waived. 
  • Session with a member of Harvie’s sourcing team to demonstrate a good handle on food safety and walk through your procedures, practices, and processes to ensure all potential hazards are being controlled.
  • Compliance with General Requirements

For producers selling us over $1,000 per week, your requirements depend on the size of your business. This designation will be based on your business’s annual revenue. At this level of sales, we are both taking on substantial risk. 

  • Small producer, < $1,000,000 annual revenue
    • Food Safety Plan
    • Plan review session with a member of Harvie’s sourcing team 
    • Compliance with General Requirements
  • Large producer, >= $1,000,000 annual revenue
