The dog days of summer are here! The past few rain storms missed the farms, so irrigation is full throttle on most Long Island farms. It is the ebbs and flows of farming/ working with mother nature. Sometimes she over produces, and sometimes she under produces what we need, but it all seems to even out some how, at least for our region.
I hope you are loving the tomatoes, or excited if its the first time getting your hands on some heirloom tomatoes this year! They are absolutely phenomenal!! My favorite is a fresh tomato sandwich. Toasted white bread, sliced tomato, mayonnaise, pinch of salt and pepper and down the hatch! The problem is, if you have 1 you probably will have 2.
