Farm Happenings for June 17, 2021

Posted on June 15th, 2021 by Nicole Prins

Hooray! Our first week of farm shares begins!

It's been a crazy spring thus far! Hot & dry at the beginning, which was nice because we got a lot of planting done. But then a late frost at the end of May, that we manage to get through without losing any plantings. The pattern through it all has been a dry spring. So hopefully that means we'll get more rain throughout the summer. They do say a farmer has to be an optimist.

The asparagus has had a rough season, hardly no rain and 2 frost kills. This will be the last week for asparagus. We have lots of greens now!! Tis the season! So fill up on your greens now and more will be coming shortly! Greenhouses are full of tomatoes and cucumbers & are looking great. And field crops are really taking off after a good week of running our irrigation system.
