Biological Chaos

Growing season? Sure is! We were so thankful to catch some rainfall this last week. Most things that we grow are on irrigation but when the storms come they make things really grow. When we are expecting rain, there is always a long list of things to get done before the rain falls, which we never get to the bottom of! We try and check off every item on our to do list, but sometimes things don’t get done. Start with the most critical and work your way down!

If you come by our farm you will likely see allot of green in the fields, some crops, some weeds, and some other plants that are there just to benefit the soil. Research has shown that when you have healthy living plants in the soil that those plants help to feed the soil ecosystem so that the soil can provide the nutrients needed for crops we grow. We are trying to balance it all in a way that grows incredibly nutrient dense food for all of you. It may not look the neatest, and we may not keep all the growth cut back, but we embrace it. We’re a farm not a golf course. :)

Unfortunately we make errors when packing out the produce boxes, but we are working with our new crew to minimize those errors. Please, if you notice an error or are unhappy with a product, let us know! And please remember to return your previous week’s box to help minimize packaging waste!
