Tumbleweed and Covid-19

Posted on March 17th, 2020 by Scott Kosiba

Hi all,

Given how chaotic the last few days and weeks have been I wanted to send out a post about how the impact of the virus and your CSA shares this season. Because Tumbleweed works here in Sublette County and with regional farmers, our supply chain is short and involves very few people. I've spoken to a number of our farmers in Colorado and Utah and they expect there to be no impact on their ability to provide produce to Tumbleweed.

Additionally, we'll be expanding our production here in Sublette County to hopefully accomodate increases in demand and buffer against disruptions from our other farmers.

Now more than ever, it's important that we have food security. Pinedale and the surrounding communities deserve to not worry about whether they'll have access to fresh food in the coming months and Tumbleweed is absolutely committed to doing that.

When the season does begin we plan to increase our donations of fresh produce to families in need served through the Pinedale Food Basket in both volume and frequency. It's essential that we protect the most vulnerable members of our community.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.

Please stay safe and vigilant,

Scott and Madeline
