Trumpeter Swan Farm CSA News - Summer, Week 11, August 10 thru August 12

---- Garlic ----

About a month ago we harvested garlic and laid it out to dry. Just this last weekend it was finally dry enough to start processing. Even with the dry weather the crop turned out just as expected and looked pretty good. We'll probably have it for the next couple weeks or so. Garlic normally flys of the shelf so get it quick, but the nice thing is that it stores very well and can just sit out on your counter top for months at a time.

---- Cabbage ----

We pulled in about 200 heads of cabbage yesterday and it is really starting to fill our cooler. Last evening in the spirit of cabbage season I added it to my fried pepper and onion medley that I make for tacos and it worked surprisingly well. Cabbage always adds a nice crunch to anything and I find that it can be fit into a lot of dishes without much hassle.

Thanks,
Ian.
