Farm Happenings for August 13, 2022

Posted on August 11th, 2022 by Alexander Admin

Howdy All!

We finally got a good downpour at the farm! We've had a very long stretch of no rain these past few months and the fields will surely respond to the rain. Additionally, it looks like we will also end our streak of 50+ days over 100 degrees! Let's keep our fingers crossed that we get more of this weather leading us through the end of summer. We are getting very close to our window to start our Fall garden. This month we will be planting a great number of the crops that you will begin to see in your share sometime towards the end of September and the beginning of October. Some of these early Fall crops include leafy greens like lettuce, arugula, mustards, and spinach. We will also be planting many of our root crops such as carrots, beets, and turnips. Other veggies will take a bit longer and will be enjoyed later down the road include broccoli, snow peas, cauliflower, kale, Swiss chard, cabbage, parsnips, and collards. We have much planned to make this one of our best Fall gardens ever.

Thank you all for your continued support!

Kenny
