Farm Happenings for December 2, 2020

Howdy All!

It looks like our first freeze will be coming Monday night. This means the end of all our summer crops that were still hanging in there. We will be harvesting everything on the plants beforehand. The good news is this will open up more beds to add to our winter crops. Additionally, many of the brassicas (collards, broccoli, kale, cabbage, etc...) sweeten up with the colder temps. Most of everything I grow in the winter is frost/cold tolerant. Usually this means that they will survive low temps. There is a chance that an item or two will need additional time to recover. In this case, I will substitute with a similar veggie in your share if needed Wednesday morning.

Thanks for your support of local agriculture!
