Farm Happenings for September 5, 2020

Howdy All!

Change is in the air and we are finally starting to see the light at the end of the long summer tunnel. While I expect to still see some warm temperatures over the next few weeks, the overall climate should be gradually cooling off. This is great news for our incoming fall and winter crops. Additionally, the timely recent rains have really greened up the field and in return I am starting to see new blooms on many of our fruiting veggies. We were able to get good germination on arugula, hakerui turnips, breakfast radish, and green beans. Our tomato, squash and cucumbers transplants have taken well to the soil and will be producing in no time. We will be transplanting rainbow chard, asian mustards, tender green mustards, and more winter squash this week. To add to that, we will be direct seeding rainbow carrots and beets this week for harvest in a couple months. Lettuce, kale, cauliflower, kohlrabi, snow peas, cabbage, asian greens, and celery seeds are on their way and will be making it into the planting schedule over the next few weeks. Thank you all for your support!
