Farm Happenings for Week of May 9th

Posted on May 5th, 2022 by Lorraine Blackwell

Suddenly spring is upon us and I am keeping busy prepping beds and planting the early crops! I am excited for my 10th year of growing (WOW!) and look forward to seeing old and new members alike in the coming weeks. The spring has been cold and dreary for most of April so some crops are taking their time in maturing but the nice days predicted over the next two weeks should help get everything growing.

For this first delivery there are limited quantities of our fresh spring veggies such as radishes, arugula, pea shoots, sunflower sprouts (*new for 2022*), and mint! You will also find the first of the hardy perennial herb transplants plus lots of products from other area farms including: beef from Timberline Farms, fish from Springhill Fish, goat cheese from Gordon's Goat Dairy, turkey from Snyder Heritage Farms, nuts from Jewels Under the Kilt, and ferments from Funky Ferments. Not to mention our own Wildflower Honey and eggs. Spring is the most plentiful time for eggs so be sure to put quiche and omelettes on the menu! We are currently in the midst of restocking all these products from other vendors and you can expect more to be added each week.

During the weeks of May 16th and 23rd we will have our full slate of annual vegetable and flower transplants available plus more spring vegetables will come available.
