Welcome to the first week of the summer shares! We have lots of exciting summer vegetables starting to be ready and our bunched leafy greens are looking beautiful. Be sure to stock up on some greens for your freezer while they are at peak deliciousness! Kale, chard, collards, and napa cabbage galore!
We also continue to have many interesting items for 'extras' purchase and I have added some new sizes and flavours of Mapleton's Ice Cream. By popular demand, I am now able to offer their Maple Chunk ice cream in the 2L size. Our supply of ground turkey and rainbow trout is sold out or limited but they have been reordered and once the deliveries arrive in a couple weeks, I will update here.
For the last five days we have had some much needed rainfall and seasonal summer temperatures which has made the plants and the farmers very happy. The weeds are also happy so I have been spending some of my off week weeding and cleaning the beds up.
I was also able to get my second vaccine on this off week, so since I'm fully vaccinated I will be working at the vegetable pickup without my mask. Of course, if anyone prefers that I wear a mask when interacting with them, please let me know and I will happily put it on when you arrive. Since we are all outside, whether members wear a mask or not is completely your personal preference.
