Garlic Planting, (Almost?) Last Chance for SPF Greens, Last Week For Merch Pre-Sale,

Posted on September 29th, 2023 by Mike Kozlowski

Garlic Planting - Complete!

We just finished planting our garlic for the 2024 harvest. Above is a picture of me, Farmer Mike, planting the last few cloves. These garlics will slowly set roots this fall before the weather gets really cold, and then they will be the first thing to germinate next spring. Join us in sending good wishes to those cute little garlic cloves that they stay cozy enough over winter that they can all germinate in the spring.

SPF Greens

With cold weather in the forecast we are getting to the end of our supply of greens such as kale, collards, chard, and herbs like parsley, cilantro, mint and dill. It is hard to say exactly when these will be frosted hard enough to ruin them but that date is imminent (likely in the next few weeks). We are going to do our best to store any of those crops that do well in a refrigerator. Sum it up to say that if you want any of these greens for immediate use, drying, freezing, etc now is the time to order them before they are gone until next summer. We are going to do our best to find you locally produced greens this winter, but they are never as abundant as they are in the summer.
