Farm Update June 3

Posted on June 3rd, 2022 by Mike Kozlowski

The garden is coming together and crops are finally starting to germinate and show a bit of growth. Holy smokes it has been dry out here. We're putting a lot of time into irrigating and just barley keeping our freshly transplanted crops alive. I'm hoping the moisture in the forecast comes to fruition so we can get a good deep rain that will set these plants up for a great season.

This afternoon we got our second succession of carrots in and the first succession just started to germinate earlier this week. Above it a photo of Michèle trying out our Jang seeder for the first time on a bed of carrots.

New this week:

Big Bend Market (Red Deer)

  • I'm so excited to begin working with Big Bend Market! This week we have a limited amount of beef jerky and pepperoni available so it is first come, first serve.

Fairwinds Farm (Brooks)

  • Monterey jack goat cheese
  • Saskatoon berry goat yogurt
  • Plain goat yogurt
  • Apricot mango goat yogurt
