Alberta Grown Sweet Potatoes

Posted on October 18th, 2021 by Mike Kozlowski

Hey Everybody!

We're very excited to bring you some locally grown sweet potatoes from southern Alberta. These beauties have been grown without the use of pesticides, herbicides or fungicides on a family farm that is diversifying from grain and cattle. It is their first year growing sweet potatoes. We air fried some this weekend and found that that they are super flavorful. This is the first time I have heard of sweet potatoes being grown in Alberta so it seems like great luck that we have found these and can offer them in your boxes.

Season Update

Our program this year runs until the week of Christmas. Over the next two weeks we will begin to transition to our winter drop processes/locations. Here is a quick overview of changes.

Tuesday Drops at Heritage Ranch - Tuesday Oct 19th is our last drop at Heritage Ranch. As of Tuesday October 26th your pickup will be moving to Wild Brewing Co (https://g.page/wildbrewingco?share). You can enter through the front door and give your name to the Wild Brewing Co team members, and they will bring you your prepackaged order.

Wednesday Drops at Wild Brewing Co - As of this week the drop is going to be transitioning inside so the process will be the same as above - You can enter through the front door and give your name to the Wild Brewing Co team members, and they will bring your your prepackaged order.

Thursday Home Delivery - We will continue per usual. The farm crew typically leaves the farm around 4:00 and delivers until about 5:30. If you are typically home around these times your veggies should be alright on your doorstep. As the weather gets cooler this fall and daytime temperatures are below zero I encourage you to leave a cooler on your step with a warm water bottle inside to protect your veggies from the cold weather.

Thursday @ Natural Health Solutions in Sylvan Lake and Anna Maria's in Lacombe - no changes.

(*Note: if your customization email has been sent you will need to email me to make this change. Please email me if you encounter any issues and I will get things sorted out!)
