Farm Fresh Eggs and Tomatoes on the Extras List - Limited Quantity

Posted on July 25th, 2021 by Mike Kozlowski

In addition to growing produce for you I am on the hunt for other locally produced items that are grown using methods that I can stand behind. I have finally found eggs that I'm happy to be offering these this week on the extras list. Here is a write up about these eggs - https://docs.google.com/document/d/1cTWknymsAhSoRqf1A4KwPMuehMAWKvDvVIDrq7VtEas/edit?usp=sharing. I'm happy that these eggs all come from small flocks of under 300 birds and about the fact that this project creates opportunity for young people growing up in rural Alberta.

We also have a limited number of bags of tomatoes from Eagle Creek Farm on the extras list.

Other farm updates:

  • We had some hail on the farm this week. You should have received an email earlier today with details about that.
  • Last week we harvested carrots but in retrospect we jumped the gun - the carrots we harvested were our first succession and they were supposed to last us for two weeks but we used all of them up in the first week because of low yield. Unfortunately, we have to pump the brakes on carrots this week to let the next succession size up. The good news is that we have a large supply of carrots to draw from once they have all size up so while we will be lean on carrots for the next week or two we will have much more coming your way later this summer and into fall.
