Bernadette harvesting lettuce inside a greenhouse

This week's offerings: Cut-off time for possible swaps/additions for both the Wednesday and the Friday deliveries is at 3 pm on Monday, Dec. 6th. We have a wide variety of items for you for this "Storage Share", some of which should last several weeks or more in your fridge, namely the potatoes, onions, carrots, cabbages, rutabagas, but many items coming from our greenhouses (including the salad mix, bok choi, head lettuce, and celery) should be eaten sooner, so perhaps we should change the name of this final share of the season!  Looks like we have a good supply of nearly all of the items, so that this delivery should be a good one to use the swap feature, as many of you have been doing all through the season, so that you can get more of the items that you want, and less of your less-favorite items.

Also available at the store:  In addition to our own extra veggies that would be available for swap or purchase at the store, we also are including items from other local farms.  This would include some items that you have seen before, including butter (from Pine River Dairy), eggs (from Norman Miller as have been available all season-long) local syrup (from several producers), cranberries (from James Lake Farm), and oranges and grapefruits (from Ed James' Florida groves), we have a couple new suppliers as well.  Avrom Farms from nearby Ripon raise (broiler) chickens on pasture, and are fed non-GMO feed, and Marvin Kurtz has an organic dairy farm near Kiel, and is providing us with his ground beef. Later in the winter we will be able to get pork from Full Circle Community Farm (near Green Bay), and Golden Bear Farm.  We are very excited to partner with other producers who are committed to not only providing chemical-free food for you and us, but who are also committed to building the soil on their farm so that it will be fruitful for many generations!  Buying from local farms may at times not be easy, and may not be your cheapest option for feeding yourself, but we appreciate your patronage!

Upcoming deliveries:  Although we haven't decided yet on the starting date, we will again be making home deliveries through the winter to those of you who would like to still order both our veggies, and items from other farms.  We are, right now, making kimchi and sauerkraut, so they will likely be available as well!  For those who enjoy purchasing directly at a market, we will be selling at the indoor winter market in Sheboygan (on the first and third Saturdays of each month), though we did relinquish our place at Milwaukee's indoor winter market, where we had been selling for nearly a decade.  Making home deliveries, like we did last year, seemed to give us equally if not better financial returns, but without the hassle of setting up and taking down a set of display tables every week, and the uncertainty of how many customers we would have at the market, especially with winter's inclement weather.  We will send an e-mail out with more information about the home deliveries in a few weeks.

Feedback on the season:  We annually ask your feedback at the end of the season to help us make decisions on what we grow for you, and how we can best deliver it to you, and in an upcoming e-mail we will present a couple questions for your consideration, so be on the lookout for that!  We also are still contemplating whether we want to change the number of shares that we want to provide for, but you can read about all that soon!

Thanks for supporting us with the purchase of the Storage Share!

We wish you the best for the winter season!

And we'll be in touch within a few weeks!
