Farm Happenings for October 6, 2021

Posted on October 3rd, 2021 by Peter Seely

Peter loading up some of the bins of potatoes to store for the next couple months (along with onions, squash, cabbage)

This week's offerings:  New this week are some fingerling potatoes, some fall spinach, and some mixed greens (including kale, tat soi, various mustards).   Spaghetti squash, pie pumpkins, & small butternuts in the store if those are favorites for you.  Lots of variety, as usual, for this time of year! We were going to include onions, but the totes are already filled, so we will make some available through the store.  Plan on them for next week though!

Coming next week:  First of the brussels sprouts, garlic, lots of onions, perhaps chinese cabbage, carnival squash, eggplant, and more greens.

Nice rain today!  Great for the fall greens.  But we will need some drier weather to get all the potatoes and sweet potatoes out of the ground. At least the temperatures, and now the colors, are fantastic!

Sorry for late sending -- had multiple cooler issues, and now finally resolved!  At least a later time tomorrow for a deadline for swapping/ordering.
