Farm Happenings for September 29, 2021

Posted on September 25th, 2021 by Peter Seely

Fall colors displayed by the Carnival winter squash; coming soon!

This week's offerings: New crops this week are sweet potatoes, and arugula, and our first of the butternut squash. (We will have butternut one or two more times this fall.)  After a short absence, we have some salad mix again as well.  Still working on potatoes; might send off red potatoes this week; haven't decided yet!  Just a trickle of tomatoes; traditional fall crops of broccoli, cabbage, and leeks on the list as well!

Coming soon: Brussels sprouts are starting to form on their stalks; exciting!  Still several weeks away, but look good at this point! We should have some fingerling potatoes coming in soon as well, and we also trialed some purple potatoes, too.  Still more cauliflower coming, though not too much broccoli still maturing.

Have a good week!
