Farm Happenings for August 27, 2021

Posted on August 24th, 2021 by Peter Seely

Josh Harvey making sure the refrigeration unit on our truck is working properly before deliveries!

This week's offerings: New this week are a bell pepper, and some beets with tops.  We planted several different varieties of cantaloupes, and unfortunately cannot specify which melons went to which pick-up sites, so we can't identify yours by name.  Prerequisites for any melon we send your way are that they are on the small side (so that they will fit into your totes!), and that taste and flavor are paramount.  Some do not have a long shelf life, be forewarned.  Cherry tomatoes still plentiful, so we package them into quarts one more time!

Eggs will be doubled up one more time this week, as we are still picking up the slightly smaller pullet eggs, so everyone that receives eggs will be getting twice the quantity as their original order.  (Next time we won't double up again!)

Coming soon: Potatoes, and winter squash!
